To start off its a 94 suburban with 4l60e. I recently had a flex plate come unscrewed from Tq and got that fixed and started having a vibration at 60mph and havn t drove it much but had to drive it last two days bc of snow. went out today dropped woman off at work and had a whining/grinding noise from bell housing on my way home it struggled to go like 25mph got in my driveway and it would slip/grind in forward and had no reverse!!! Well I put it in neutral took it out of 4wd and then to drive and seemed fine but still grinding in bell housing!! Is this results of flex plate coming unbolted and its screwed my trans? I'm having to work on it in the snow so trying to figure a way to attack before getting in the elements, Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When you say you got the flexplate and torque converting coming loose fixed what do you mean? Did you just bolt the tq back to the flexplate?

Yeah trans didn't come apart the starter was removed inspection plate and everything tightened back up!

Sounds like you're gonna need to drop the trans and replace that flexplate.

The flex plate was vibrating real bad when loose as soon as ya started the truck and vibrating under load after it was retightened all that went away! Anyway my cooler coulda froze up or something crazy bc it's Been been no warmer than 20 last two days here 5 at night -3 yesterday morn (wind chill)

I was thinking cracked or warped flex plate

Flex plate was checked with a tiny camera for cracks when retightened and none were found! So I had it in 4hi and it wasn't going forward very well and reverse wasn't working at all, so u put it in neutral and put in 2wd and it acted like there wasn't a issue at all for a minute or two then back to fawked up...

Warped flex plate is possible bc of it being loose and vibrations but will that cause no reverse gear? Also had a vibration when under load yesterday in 4hi on hills but went away after letting off gas pedal!?

The center may busted out of the flexplate. I've seen them completely separated, sometimes the jagged broken ridges grab under lower loads and sometimes they'll slip.

I'm gonna tear into it tom and see what's happening

That was my first thought I honestly hope it's busted flex plate catching since there is a grinding noise happening! If suns hell is bad will there be pieces in the pan?
