gmc sonoma wont start please help

Ive got a 94 GMC Sonoma it was running fine then all of the sudden I went out cranked it and it wouldnt go over about 35 mph and now it wont crank at all. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem please let me know.

oh yea its a V6 Vortec automatic

When I try to crank it it will turn over a few times then acts like the battery is dead i checked the bateery and it reads 12.5 volts.

throttle position sensor is one posibility suppose....really a bunch of them..

Need a lil more info honestly.
12.5volts is low...but not dead.

Do you have any check engine codes?
Have you cleaned the battery terminals?

check the distibutor, probably broken magnets. and if you were working on anything right before this happen i would look there too.
