Going Solar...

Just from watching the NRG commercials, you get paid $200, the first 2 months. What happens after that? They install, & its no cost to you. Sounds just like the Satellite companies! So, it seems to me, it's their system, they give you an up-front bonus, to use your roof. They give you a Small percentage of the power rebate, & They keep the rest. There's Got to be a long term contract, Somewhere? That's My take on it. Then there's the Newspaper article from last week, that says what they are doing, is against NC Regulations, & they expect Duke to Challenge these Companies, if & when it becomes competitive. There is something in the "Regulations", that do allow Solar Farms, but Not Companies doing Homes & Business roofs.
Another question that comes up, What happens when you need your roof repaired, or replaced? What if a Solar Co. damages your roof? Insurance issues?
I"D BEWARE!

Interesting project from google....Project Sunroof....mapping solar exposure for rooftops, now in SF, Fresno, and Boston, going to expand nationwide eventually they say.
