Shift easy. That plastic lever on the top will snap off in a hurry. I've actually used one of these on a small baja car when I was in school. The shift lever failed in competition and we were f'd.
I will be using a engine/tranny from a 2wd 4wheeler, it had IRS so i will be just turning it sideways and the tranny will be like a tranny/tcase. going to have the drive shafts go where the CV's went.
Well... come this sat i will be heading down to Jacksonville FL and getting a lot of work done to the golf cart, the frame will be all welded up, the body will be on there, and the engine mounts should be built.
Got the engine installed, hooked up the wiring harness (PITA), looks like i will have to do some work to the harness to get everything to fit like i want it. then I just set in the golf cart making vvvvvvvvvvvvvvoooooooooooooommmmmmmmmm sounds for the rest of the night. what fun.
I have a question. Do yall think changing out the gear in the axles will help when it comes to the power? I just want to make sure i help out that 280CC as much as i can. and if so, which ones should i go with. the 4.57 or 5.38 ?
Ive had a few ppl tell me that the coil overs i have will be to soft for this. so i was thinking if they sag to much, then i am thinking about getting a set of Monroe air shocks to replace them with... any thoughts on that?
Here is a idea for a drive shaft I have in my head, its a 2 part drive shaft. with the first part being the CV axle from the 4wheeler, then some type of adapter plate with a shorten zuk axle.
I was also throwing around the idea of using the hub with the brakes from the 4wheeler so i could have some type of brakes, its that or doing a pinion brake. eather way i will be using a hub to keep the 4wheeler cv axle in place so when i flex it wont pull it out of the tranny.
I will be cutting where the red line is so it doesnt get hung up.
nothing new to post.. but.. i talked to Ballistic Fabrication , they said my parts will be shipping today. but my order over at Northern Tools ( Thats where I got my links at ) still says "Pending"... Can't wait for these parts to get in so she can sit on her own weight... well.. i still need to get one more rim for it... but at less the back will be sitting on its own weight soon.
Ballistic Fab!!!oh no!! If your interested in what I'm talking about go on over to Pirate and do a little research on them. YOu'll be lucky to get your parts.
