Sad but true, seems we (USA) are always playing catch up to this stuff.. No new refineries since 79? thats terrible.. No new nuclear reactors in some time.. We need to be doing something...

ah damn tree huggers. they must get a lot done riding around on their bicycles
From what I read, there are actually fewer refineries than before. It's my understanding that they went to a model of fewer super fineries than a lot of mid-level refineries. I guess it's worked, they are really profitable and there is no shortage of gas (except after Kitrina).
