I found a 97 dodge 2500 12v cummins with 270,000 ex cab long bed 2wd auto for $4200. Everything works and shifts strong. No mods! hide away goose neck. Its not a 53 block but the engine model number is 53040, but its12v and they dont have the common problems with the block cracking like the 24v. The body needs some paint, the cab had some rust on top from sitting for 6 months, and the left front fender was replaced from an accident but needs some paint. The interior had the cracked dash and the rip in the drivers seat. thanks will be posting some pics and maybe build

Well...I have an 01 2wd auto 24V. I can' tell you that the interiors in these truck are cheap made. Mine has 158k and the dash is cracked...also the trim around the guages is cracked. The 2nd gen dodge driver seats are crap....I ride with a lean to the drivers door. I would be wearry of the auto trans with that many miles on it...but...It's a good chance that it's on it's 2nd or 3rd trans. Check the rear pinnion seal as they are prone to leak. Atleast it has the Cummins.....seems to be the only thing good about these trucks. People at work give me crap about driving a dodge. I tell them that I drive a Cummins, it's only a dodge by default.
