Besides the tool trucks, what's a good quality brand of drill bits? We'd like a broad range, without the worries of breaking the small ones on the first use.
Greenfield, Cleveland, Precision, there are a whole bunch. MSC is ok, but usually overpriced. McMaster is a good source, but they don't have specific mfg's listed which can be a little aggravating. Grainger/Fastenal/Bryant Supply/Motion Industries all carry decent stuff too. I like shopping at www.travers.com because they have a location in Greenville, SC and have a good website. Go for the flattest angle you can find (135 degree is better than 118 in my opinion). Most modern inserted carbide drills are typically about 140degree included angle. They are that way for a reason. I have 3 collections of drill bit in my shop, 1 HF/Northern/Lowes drill index for using with the hand drill and any non-important applications on the drill press or mill, a collection of various odd size made in US drills for when I need a good hole or have a hard material, and a full index of US made bits with all fractional, letter, and number drills from 1/32-1/2" that only get used in the mill or lathe, never by hand, and only in the drill press if I don't have the right size in another set.Besides the tool trucks, what's a good quality brand of drill bits? All that being said, the dewalt bits are worthless.
