Built a Frame jig/table. Built it out of 6"x6" 1/4" angle. With 4"x6" legs. Needless to say it is HEAVY.
Our plans are to hoist it up to a beam in the shop when not in use, to keep it out of the way. Was thinking a small winch, but would the "out" be too fast when lowering it? Don't really have much room for a hoist, so we were thinking of a pulley system and using a winch on a truck (already paid for).
Once it is in the raised position, it will be clamped to the beam. We ran one piece of angle to fasten it to, but I will probably add some bracing to it just to be sure, and to keep it from rocking. ~400lbs overhead would SUCK to fall...
So, anyone have a cheap hoist, or would a small winch (AC or DC) do the job? The winch or hoist will only be used to raise and lower, not for holding it all the time.
Thanks
