My dually and trailer weigh that much empty

Im pretty sure Jonny's not saying his Max Gross Combined Weight is 9500lbs.. My Grand Cherokee's Max Gross Combined weight's rated at 11000lbs.

I believe he's saying his Maximum Loaded Trailer Weight shouldnt exceed 9500#...

I'm also assuming that since your towing weight shouldnt exceed 9500# you're not looking to be able to tow 2 vehicles or a trailer that's 34', etc.

What about this one?

Seems to me like what you're looking for...

OR order the same trailer you had and have them make it a gooseneck... I think they can do that...

But is he looking for a low boy or a deck over. length, dove or flat? I was just asking because i know where a few used trailers are.

kinda like 1 above, w/o wood i want the diamond plate, it only needs to be 18ft max,
mw wat u have?

for 18'...why not just stick with bumper pull and keep the bed of the truck for cargo?

I'd opt for GN if I was buying a two-car hauler...just not sure I'd go that route for a one-car...

Look guy How about letting us help you?
What is you tow rig that you have bagged and why do you feel the the need to talk about the max rate of pull and air lift, bags and brake control without telling of the truck, when your real question is looking for a trailer.. Is It a Honda, or a small truck?
Back to your real question, Don't know of many builders that will build a Fifth wheel or GN with 4k axles if it is not 3 axles. Most are going to be 5200 or more..
What you Know is that you Truck will tow 9500 if that is true, now you need to find out what the weight of your off road rig is then you will know how much of a trailer you need and can tow. I have found a lot of GN trailers that are in the 4k to 5k weight and if you have a buggy in the 4.5k that could put you at your limit.
A tag can be as little as 1800 lbs
Have you ever towed any real weight with your truck to see what it would feal like and if you like it? That would make the difference if you go with a GN that puts you at 9500 lbs vs a tag that's at 8000 lbs or so.
Ok What I would do, If the tow is 9500lbs its maybe a 1/2 ton truck or something like that.
I would keep the weight as light as I could and go with a tag in the 18' to 20' range if you wanted to put a tool box on it and to make sure you can move it to get the ball weight you want. I would go with 4000lb or 5200lb axles as they don't add any weight other then a little for the tires. They will hold up longer, tires will be better and should be more trouble free. Other then that get a normal trailer that is built with beams or channel and not angle it will have less flex and be more stable.
I would not go with a GN because of all the extra weight in the GN hitch and the fact that the overall weight will be more. Also most are built in the range of 20' being the smallest but you don't see many and 24' to 30' being what most build. Now a builder will build anything at a cost.
Yes if you tow long trailers and weight a GN or 5er is better but for a 18' to 20' you will have no problem and it will be even better with a WD hitch....
I have towed this trailer all over with no problem and its 25'-- 31' +- total

And this one is a 20'-- 26'+- total and the only problem is the onlookers

There you go my 2 cents...

i have a 2008 Titan 2wd; I had a Kuafman trailer b4 w/ 4000lb axles. Just a regular tag along and i was thinking of a goose neck, wat are the advantages of it? My trail truck is no more than 6000lbs.

Lets see if you go GN you will get a little better towing maybe, better turning maybe, but can kill your tires...

If you go GN you will pay more money for the trailer, tow more weight, Pay more for a hitch, could get a GN and find out that the Titan is not set up for GN hitches ? are they? New trucks are not like the old ones and you just weld a big plate in, now most call for a special hitch thats $400-$500....

Good and bad of tag and GN Anyone with a hitch can pull or move your trailer if it is a tag. Break down and they can load your truck on a rollback and hook to your tag, not with a GN. You can loan rent or easy to sell a tag but I would think its harder to sell a GN and have seen that on odd size trailers or combos.

You have a 2WD truck that is enough there..... Get that trailer in someplace and have it rain and can't get it out, if there is no one with a GN hitch in a 4x4 then you will be setting for some time or hooking towstraps to the tow rig and your offroad rig and hope it will pull it out. If a tag you hook to the off road rig and move it anyplace you want.

There is a place we camp for a few weeks each year that we run in to that on the 5ers and tags. I pull all the tags out and the 5ers set as most are 2WD and they do not do wet grass good.

I have a 04 titan that I tow my jeep and trailer with. Does just fine with a regular 18' tag along trailer. I do not think that you will need a goose to tow your truck with, just balance the load out correctly on the trailer and you should be fine. a friend tows with basically the same set up except for an 07 titan, work fine for him as well.

I use to have a gooseneck 20' trailer and it weighed 3,500 lb empty and pulled it with a 2 wd dodge. I never got stuck but came close a few times. If you want a gooseneck buy it, but let me tell you, no one will buy a gooseneck trailer from you if you decide to sell it because if it is under 10,000 load capacity they can't use it. A tracker or bobcat weigh more than that. If you get one get a 14,000 lb so it will hold it's value. If not get the best built trailer for the least $ and tag it. Gooseneck trailers will pull better and are much safer than a tag along.

I now have a 1 ton 4x4 and a tag along trailer and it works much better for what i need.
