Hey guys does it look like the jeep has a 3" lift or is it more than that? The guy I bought it from said it was a 3" rusty's lift. Is there any way to tell? Thanks

It should have Rusty's 300 in white letters in the center of the coils. I remember the ones I bought used did. I can't remember if my leafs had it, but you wouldnt care for your ZJ.

stolen form Rusty's site...

Cool, I'll check for the writing on the spring.

It looks taller than a 3" lift to me. Those are 33's. The fenders are hacked a bit though.

I need to move the rear axle back some.

I know the guy you got that thing from. He works for an insurance place at Friendly and New Garden. Good looking rig, but it could use some work.

I think the springs are 4.5" lift they say 405 on them. Is that what it means?

Also did some painting...

Do you know much about the rig? Any problems you know about it?

Thanks it's Dollar General spray paint. LOL

Anyone else know what the 405 means on the springs?

I'm guessing a Rusty's RC-CS405-XJ is the same as RC-CS405-ZJ, whichever you order you get a spring marked 405. A stock ZJ front spring is longer than a stock XJ spring, so a 4.5" lift spring for an XJ will only give 3" lift on a ZJ. Just a theory of mine, I could be way off base.

I think you are on to something here. Makes sense to me.

I replaced all of the tie rod ends and the jeep has no more death wobble! Woo hoo! :bounce2:

The v8 ZJs use a longer and stiffer spring then the XJ... hence where a 4.5" xj spring is the same as a 3" ZJ...

Cool, drove the zj to work today and no death wobbles. Keeping fingers crossed. LOL

Got a big honkin' tow hook that goes in the receiver hitch. LOL

Probably build a front bumper for it soon.

:D

RenegadeT is right. Back when I had a ZJ, I lifted it and sold my front coils to an XJ guy who added a 2" spacer to it to give his rig a 3" lift. A 3" spring for a ZJ would give 4-4.5" lift on an XJ.

Does your ZJ have adjustable control arms or you gonna have to fab/buy longer arms. You should seriously consider the advantage of longarms, both offroad and onroad. Should allow you to cure the deathwobble.

i like the bumpers. Not aesthetically, but now you can play bumper cars!
