Ok, say what one might about Dell computers, but......
I picked up a "dead" cpu from a customer yesterday, didn't ask for it, just some friendly advice on how they should check the warranty and make sure it wasn't still covered, yada, yada, yada-long story short, they offered it, I took it, brought it home, sure enough bad MB.
Checked Dell's website, still under warranty. Online chat and verified dead mb, wala, service tech was scheduled to come out and replace mb and power supply.
Got home today and had a good cpu waiting for me to set up, courtesy of the warranty that was still good. BTW, this is the second one in 7 months....
Not top o' the line, but new to me and free!
