can 16 inch rims fit on a 2005 grand cherokee limited? It has 17's but have been looking at different rims and was wondering if 16's would fit

I do not know for certain, but maybe they will. The best thing to do would be to test fit one and see if the caliper clears. If it does then, you should be OK
