my wife has a 2004 grand cherokee. when she bought it, it did not have the cross bars for the rack. we are going to the beach this weekend and i need a way to get my surfboard down there. i bought some cross bars for it, but how do you get them on. i am assuming the plastic caps come off the end of the roof bars. just want to make sure, before i break them and she gets pissed at me. any help is greatly appreciated. jesse
