I have a 95 GC and i need to put tow hooks in the front. i cant find anywhere to bolt hooks on. does anyone know where i can attach some hooks on my front end?

you shouldn't, ive heard the unibody isnt strong enough up front. (maybe the guy was trying to sell me more shit, i could be wrong). if you go to rustysoffroad.com he has zj radiator supports which are really beefy and have two tow hooks. the whole thing is like 150 and it improves your approach angle, along with protecting your radiator.

By the way, i like the new zj you got. i saw the pictures and that thing is bad ass.

so is a radiator support the best way to add a recovery point to the front without buyin a bumper?

they bolt into your subframe, plenty strong, I did however bend one of my rustys brand tow hooks, no frame/structural damage though,

theres a shot of the towhooks in the jeep, the driver side one is the one that just got bent.

see where the bracket that holds the bumper in this pic goes into the jeep? thats where the tow hooks go.

Hope this helps

also, I believe ive still got my tow hooks and all the hardware if you want them, the one is bent but not bad and still usuable if interested I can see if I can find them and snap some shots, just pay for shipping and they are yours.

Another option is the radiator support from Kevinsoffroad.com. i've got it on mine and it uses shackles instead of hooks.

I did for mine, and as a result, I broke one of the plastic mounting things on the inside of the bumper and had to zip tie it up to the body itself, eventually I got tired of the plastic cover and just took it off and later got the tube bumper from novacayne here on the board.

I'd get the KOR (Kevins Off Road) Rad. Support or a new/custom bumper. Stay as far away from the cRusty's stuff as possible!

I run the Kevin's Offroad radiator support on my ZJ. For the price, and what it does, it's the best one on the market for a front recovery point on a zj.

looks good. Whats your plans for the front bumper? Gonna put the plastic cover back on or look into a custom built one?

im lookin to buy a custom one in the $200-300 range but for now the platic ones probly goin back on it. i might trim the plastic one up some before i put it back on

I got a 96 ZJ a couple months ago and the front bumper was already trimmed. If you want, I can take pics tonight if you want to see where to trim.

Like I said, it was like this when I got it. The tow hooks are on the radiator support. One side looks bent. If you want more detailed pics let me know.
