Anybody out there with access to harness plugs for a GC 4.7? After repeated trips to Ross Jeep in Boone (@#$@$@#$:poop:) for drivability and stalling issues, my MiLaws GC was diagnoses in like 30 seconds by me for broken/bare wires at the the IAC plug. Somebody, and Ross is the only other shop that has been under the hood since shes had it, has buggered up the wires to the point that they are bare and maybe even worn through. For 11 months she has had complete stalling and intermittent codes set with no help from Ross. Get this, and this is the premis of my rant. When taken in for repeated and complete stalling when driving down the highway, the writeup on the service ticket says "Minor Engine Trouble". WTF!!! Most times its at cold idle or coasting just after getting off the gas. Now, I'm not saying that this is the issue, but when I popped the hood I saw bare wires immediately. So, heres the real deal. The wires are stripped back all the way back to the plug and I am afraid that I need to go into the plug to get to good wire for a good stripping/solder/heat shrink repair. To do this, I would like to have a plug on hand to be sure that I crack this open and finish in a reasonable amount of time. So are they available or is there a way to take them apart and rework the pins/wire connection? Sorry, just real upset for someone taking here $980 and shotgunning parts replacement and not just taking the time to look in there....

Got a harness from my 'private junkyard'. Thanks Matt for confirming that a 4.0 connector is the same as a 4.7. That helped. This forum is too cool.

To those with the jeep 4.7. spend the $50 and see a world of difference if you replace this unit. This jeep ran descent before, but #@$%$ it runs killer now. I cut out the previously mentioned buggered harness and soldered in the new one and its like a new truck. The dealership had 'cleaned' the new one by running some cleaner through the throttle body, but it looked like a 15 year old 02 sensor. It was caked up and would not seal against the port. You really should take these out and vacuum out the crap while you scrape the junk out of the port. cleaner alone is wishful thinking at best.
