Driveway and extra parking infront of second garage has random grass and weeds. What are you guys doing/using to keep the areas cleared?

I’ve got a 4gal backpack sprayer and I’ll fill it up and spray everything with a over concentrated mix from Lowe’s. It kinda works, but with such a large area I’m wondering if you guys got better ideas or doing something different
 
I use Gordon's Barrier from agri supply on my gravel around shop.. Lasts over a year.

Weed Killer, Herbicide, Defoliant, Grass & Lawn Control

Glyphosate, Herbicide, Roundup, Trimec, Pramitol, & 2,4-D Amine are just a few different weed killers to consider puchasing at Agri Supply®.

Glyphosate concentrate at about 2oz per gallon usually takes care of it all. Might take a few treatments over the course of the year as stuff comes in at different times. If it’s just grass it might just be a one and done treatment.
 
Round up, or whatever I pick up. Concentrate. 4oz per gallon. It seems to me, the driveway, is always growing something. I can spray everything I see, & the next couple days, more weeds are cropping up. I just spray about every 6 weeks. Tried glypo, & primatol. Only difference I've seen, is Price! Some works faster than others.
 
I was really hoping this was a thread about washing stone you naturally have on your property :lol: My buddy has a hill with a nice crop of 57 stone sized river rock in it. Been trying to figure out a cheapish way to get it cleaned so he could use it on his driveway. I get nauseous thinking about how much crusher run he's going to need (3/4 mile)

I get this from TSC, works good. I spray a lot of gravel and edging, probably go through 14 +/- gallons a year.

He might check with some local landscape supply yards. Many of them have screens, they run dirt through, or mix dirt & compost. He'd have to haul it to them, & then whatever they charge IF they would screen it. Might not be worth it. Maybe he could Rent a screen, if he had a loader of some sort.

He's got a good sized skid steer. With as much money as he's going to spend on gravel, I think he can justify spending a few grand to build some type of barrel screen like they use on Gold Rush.

That's one way, but I was thinking of a steel stand with slots on a slant, & a vibrator hooked to it. I've seen several like that.

41% Glyphosate at 1oz/gal with a good squirt of dish soap as a surfactant. I hit the random pop-up every time I cut the grass. I have a 20v backpack sprayer that came with B&D battery but bought a DeWalt adapter.

I did rentals (contracted from management company) for years and 1oz/gal in the summer works just as well as 2oz if you use the soap.

As the weather cools you’ll have to go back to 2oz. As others said, you have to stay on it.

24D for woody weeds like ivy.

I know a guy who swore by rock salt but you have to be careful of runoff.
 
If you aren't going to be bothered by the smell, I use diesel fuel,kills fast! Then I use a propane burner to get rid of the dead stuff. If the smell is going to be an issue, I use a mixture of vinegar (1 gal.) Epson salt, 1 cup) and a 1/4 cup of dawn. Sprayed on a day when there won't be rain, it will start turning brown in the afternoon/evening if sprayed in the morning, these days, you need to wait till the dew is dried up. Then in a few days, hit it with the burner.
