Anyone out here jumped on the gravel bandwagon yet?

I have a new gravel bike arriving today and am planning on hitting a Uwharrie route I mapped out (about 60 miles) over the Christmas break. Let me know if any of yall want to join. "B/C" group ride speed (16-18 mph avg). Will leave from the Outpost.

This is a great time to ride the gravel out at URE. The ohv trails are closed so traffic on the often dusty forest roads is minimal. 16-18 on gravel is a solid B+ to A pace. Tower and Low Water Bridge roads are good fun. We have done a few solid 50-60 mile loops out there.

@Jody Treadway if you race over at the WWC in January look us up if you want to hang out after. I'll be working at the bike shop during the day. Pretty sure the URE spring race is primarily on horse trails. Don't ride using a water bottle ;)

This does sound cool though. Might have to break out the old GT. Only problem is me....I'd be dead after a few hills. lol Might have to start conditioning around Salem Lake and go from there.
