Hi New guy from Asheville here and through looking for places to wheel in this part of the state I came upon a few listings for graveyard ridge trail and I was wondering if anyone here has done it before? Also just looking for something other than hurricane creek to ride.

I have seen that list but both hurricane creek and graveyard ridge are legal to ride. From the links i've seen graveyard ridge is only open to 4x4's from august to january.

Where did you see this? If this is the same Graveyard Ridge which is in Shining Rock Wilderness area, I am looking at a map of it right now and it looks like its a hiking trail...

The road from the parking lot out to the edge of the wilderness area is open in the fall for berry pickers and such. It goes around the side of Tennet Mountain out to the saddle. The road gets a little more interesting after it crosses into the wilderness area and drops over the back side, but my understanding is this portion is permanently closed.

I don't remember the specifics on Hurricane Creek. I think that's the one that starts right off the side of I40. I think it's also seasonally open for hunting access...? Maybe year-round. But it's a dirt road, runs right up the middle of the WMA out there.

translation.....you better have a hunting permit if your driving back there.

We keep that list of places updated, so if you dont see it on there chances are you are looking at a $1500 fine for being there.

hurricane creek is open year round. we (Appalachian 4x4) are doing a cookout and possible ride thru a local trail the 8th of october and a trail cleanup at hurricane creek the third weekend in november

Hurricane creek is open year round and is a gravel road that passes through. It does come right off the side of I40

Graded and Gravelled, or an unmaintained service road?

Both depending on what parts of the road you are on.
