Hooked up with 08 Sahara16 Saturday morning for Great White's first real test. The rig actually did better than I thought it would. Need a few tweeks here and there but for now I'm extremely satisfied. I took the ledge line on the climb before Kodak, took the right line on Kodak, we did Daniel, Dickey Bell, etc. I was running the BigHorns at 20 psi and they seemed to hook up pretty well. I didn't feel any wheel spin all day, kept it in 1st gear, low range, on the obstacles, and pretty much walked up everything I pointed it at. I was afraid that the length, 136" wheel base, would be a problem but other than dragging the skid on some of the water bars it wasn't too bad. I did have to make a few back up turns in some tight spots though. It's definitely heavy and a lot different than driving The Krawler but I had a blast!

08 Sahara16 did a really good job of driving! Running a completely stock 08 Sahara with street tires aired to 36 psi we ran everything except Dutch John and Slab Pile and he only needed a tug up the two Daniel ledges. BTW, thanks to FamilyXJ and the crew for the loan of a strap!

Thanks John! I'm glad to see that you're satisfied with how your rig did on the trails. I'm also really surprised at the capabilities of my Jeep. I never thought I'd be at the top of Daniels with my stock Jeep...

Thanks for the help and meeting up with me, hopefully we can do it again sometime and I hope to see you at the Meet n' Greet.

This trip did leave me with some battle scars though.
A good dent to the driver side rear bumper from Dickey Bell, severe scrape on passenger side front fender flare from when I was stuck in the mud on Daniels in the picture you have above, and extremely roughed up tires.
It was well worth it though.

It'll only get worse! haha and JC glad to see you wheelin' Great White! Haven't seen it since the flats this summer, Hope to wheel with you again pretty soon! BTW Tim Hit me up in the next day or two, might be going to a buddy's farm and he's down for a bunch of people to come ride.

Haha, that's true; it will only get worse.
Sounds like a plan, I'll send ya a text later today.

Edit: And it only did get worse; I discovered major scratches, after washing the Jeep, on the passenger side fenders from where I was stuck in the above picture on Daniel. Dad isn't too happy about this one! haha

Just wanted to say thanks for the ride offer when you saw my wife and I walking out of the trail Saturday. Must of saw you just before you took the pictures at the ledge.

I am glad you have come to the dark side and see how real men have to drive 100' in front of that big dang hood!!!

One suggestion- get that stock T-case skid outta there fast. It is thin and weak and will let you down. That Tcase is aluminum and while it will hold your torque and HP, it won't handle any rocks. I went with an almost flat 1/4" thick plate across the frame under the trans and t-case.

Looks good!!

Truck looks great John. Its weird to see it on the trails without the Krawler hooked behind it! We'll have to ride this fall sometime like old times!

It was good to meet you, hopefully I'll see you at Rockvember if you're attending.
That is, if I'll be attending. After this URE trip, Dad isn't too happy with the condition of the Jeep. It looks like it's coming down to either, 1) me get a job to pay for off-roading expenses or, 2) no more off-roading for me.
I think I'll stick with off-roading and go with option 1 :driver:

Truck looks a little different with the bighorns on it. BTW, thanks for the fridge!

Haha nice pics man, If you remember I was one of the guys in the xterra group that was there when you were going down Daniel. We had the one guy who got his pathfinder impaled on a rock when the sahara was 3 wheeling.
