GREENCHEROKEE build

Happy for the new owner. He got a hell of a good Jeep.

Checking in! I just acquired HAPPY's old xj! I'd be proud to continue the build and show this rig some love again. I will post up some pictures this evening to show its current state, and will just continue the build thread here. I am excited to have yet another xj to tinker with, and one that has had some serious time and effort in it already! These guys have done a great job so far, and again, I'd be honored to pick up where they left off! Thanks guy! Stay tuned...

Sounds awesome. I would like to see your progress.

Well here we go. This is the night I picked it up. PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE! I JUST got my hands on it! I haven't even washed it yet. Like I said, I will give it the respect it deserves! I will drop some photos of my past rigs just to clarify how I treat my XJ's!

I treat my rigs like daily drivers. This one will get there!

COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Lol! Sounds good! A lot of places require a cb, fire extinguisher, spare tire, tow straps, and a hi-lift before riding... I'm sure you know! I'll be there!
Fire extinguisher and have your belts on when moving.

So I am going to drop a few more photos just to put into perspective what this jeep has been through. I have already yanked all the BULLS#!T stereo wiring BACK out of it... Yes, the previous owner had a "system" in this rig, and started the painful process of cleaning all the nooks and crannies of the mud he let sling all over the inside. Apparently he never really wheeled the xj, but rather mudded it. I'll take some updated photos on lunch to show the progress I've made so far. These are how it was when I got it...

Yes, he screwed the radio block off plate HAPPY made to the dash pad like that...

Full of trash and mud:

And Ole's Guacamole bumper stickers on EVERY panel of the jeep...

I am trying to sort out some other wiring issues right now with the temp gauge and horn button that was re-wired VERY poorly. Probably going to giver her a MAJOR wash down this evening inside and out to just start fresh. It honestly breaks my heart (sorry for the feels!) to see someones HARD work just spit on like this... The front diff has also got a pretty good leak which I will tackle this weekend (no biggie), but my concern is how long he drove it like that. I also think the Trans mount is torn, as you can feel it move every time you accelerate. ALL IN TIME THOUGH!

You have some high standards for cleanliness of a wheeling rig. I would be ecstatic if my wheeling rig looked that good AFTER I got done cleaning it, which I very rarely do, lol.

Wow. looks much different from when I sold it with Dakota bastard leafs & f150 coils... wiring was never altered & never had a audio system (other than a properly wired aftermarket cd)when I sold it to HAPPY.. I have "stockish" pics of it somewhere, if you want a before/after.

It was all business when I sold it. One of the other guys added the system and done some stupid crap. I think the new owner fell off the earth or something. LOL
