Greensboro Area Shop Referal Needed - FIXED

I'm looking for a referal for a shop in the Greensboro area to diagnose my tow rig problem. 96 Ram 2500 4x4 5.9L gas, no codes, gutted cat. While towing my Jeep to the SFWDA convention in Mt City last weekend I got about 5 mpg, half of what I normally get and had NO power going up the big hill to Boone even in second gear. The truck starts and runs fine, no smoke. I also experienced the mpg loss on a trip to Asheville while not towing anything. Pulled and checked all plugs and they looked brand new. I've tried several fuel additives and different gas stations also. If anyone has a recommendation on a shop I'd appreciate it.

I thinking Cheap John. Fuel Filter like Jon said. But I figure you already did that. So, I am thinking injectors. Let us know the final culprit.

call Bryan at Welch 4x4. He is a good guy. He is located over where the galloways shop was years ago.

3500 Rehobeth Church Rd. 854-4040.

I handled his listing in the phone book, while I was there a guy came in with an old bronco or something (it was a while ago) he fixed the issue in a matter of minutes and treated the guy very well. I was impressed. I have not seen service like that in quite a while. Also he has an old CJ or 2......

Stud & Chip, What is the thinking on the fuel filter as far as gas usage and power? That thing is a bear to get to and costs $200! Don't want to just throw parts at it. Is there anyway to tell if that is the problem? TIA

We talked this Morning and come up with a few ideas, one of which was to raise each end, and rotate. He called back and said with rear raised, tranny and t-case in neutral, it is very hard to rotate the tires. Ideas on this?

Problem appears to have been two seized caliper bolts, one on each side. Calipers weren't releasing all the way. Pulled everything this a.m. and lubed the bolts after struggling to get them out! Seems to be fine now but I need to tow my rig to find out for sure. Guess that means I have to go wheelin somewhere :)

John I doubt it was just the bolts if it is seizing. lubing the bolts won't do a thing for the brake piston releasing. I am thinking some new calipers are the ticket. At first it will seem they are working right, until they get heat in them, then in my experience, they will seize again.

If this turns out to be a brakeing problem, you mite want to check the rubber brake line's, they maybe clapsing on you.
