Grinding noise when I let out on the clutch

My 93 cherokee 5 speed makes a grinding noise when I let out on the clutch when I take off. Any idea of what it is?

could be a worn pilot bearing/bushing in the end of the crank. I had one wear out and it made a vibration and sound as I let the clutch out. Might be time to replace the clutch and pilot bearing.

Old thread, but I'd think more of the t/o bearing than the pilot. The pilot bearing only see action when the clutch is pushed in, not out.
