Grinding safety?

I spend a lot of time on the weekend with an angle grinder in my hand. I always wear glasses. Sometimes I'll catch a rogue fragment close to my eye. I have a harbor freight face shield but it's more danger than good, trying to grind/cut through a layer of fog. Any suggestions for a fog free face mask that works****?
Also, I'm looking for something to cut back on the amount of grinding dust I'm inhaling. I've tried disposable dust mask but they fog, and don't seal. Considered a painters respirator, but that's a 45 dollar trial. Not opposed to spending the money, but would like some feedback on how they work against metal particles. Any suggestions?

Miller lpr p 100 respirator is the best and most affordable for the quality.

Regular safety glasses, with a low profile clear face shield for heavy grinding.

There was a similar thread someone posted with Amazon and eBay deals for everything I mentioned. I'm sure someone can chime in with a link to that thread.

I use a Jackson Safety face shield and lenses; I very seldom have issues with fogging. Not sure which model but it was not expensive. I love being able to grind with sparks flying in my face an no worries for my eyes! I also wear one of those thin welding caps to keep my hair from burning.

Use rain x in the little bottle to keep lens from fogging ;) or just don't breathe. Lowes sells n95 (I think that's the spec) disposable face masks that work well, about twenty bucks for a three pack (been a long time since I bought any). They have a pretty good fit, used them when bleaching decks and ceilings on log homes.

Jackson V90 looks pretty interesting

One time in Reno I had a stripper grind on me so hard I had to push her off before I done got raw. I'm wearing a sock next time.

Are we talking about the same thing? o_O

Speaking of grinding safety ...

Proper clothing is just as important. Wear good rather gloves and no loose clothing; wear your skinny jeans and muscle shirt if need be.

I ended up using my mechanic gloves today because I couldn't find my leather gloves and ended up grinding my finger a little because the mechanic gloves are less resilient. Lesson learned.

I set myself slightly on fire last week because the sparks were flying directly into my sweatshirt pocket... I couldn't see this happening because the frame of the face shield blocked my line of sight. Ha.

Done this a few times. Got some holes in some of my jackets now haha

I picked up an lpr100. Pretty comfortable, non restrictive. One of my buddies caught a fragment to the eye from a bench grinder on Thursday. It rusted in two days and has to go back tomorrow to get the remainder of the rust streak drilled from his eye. Lesson learned.

Goggles work good if in tight spots. I'm always hitting face shields on crap so I tend to grab the goggles.

Funny this thread came up. A friend was under his Jeep grinding this weekend in my garage when the grinder caught and came back at him. He had leathers on and face shield and mask. He came out with a sore shoulder, no scratches but the shield took the big to his face like a champ!

sucker paid for itself right there!

Had the same thing happen last night but it just came back on my hand a little. Proper gloves kept me from heading to the ER.
