WTF is up with people who take the cart and push it toward the store (the same damn distance from their car to the cart corral) and push it into the landscaping 20' from the front door? What is the thought process or is there one?

I guess it is better than the folks who just leave it in a parking space.

My favorite are the ones that push the cart out the door, past the carts in the vestibule, then tote their things and leave the cart on the sidewalk.

I saw a lady the other week and my local grocery push a cart onto a curb....I walked up behind her and said "Uh Ma'am, do you realize that it takes more energy for you to push that cart up onto the curb than it does to walk it to the corral or up to the store where you got it?"

I also tell people that park in fire zone that it says in multiple places not to park there and I usually just get a nasty look....but the way I see it....if you don't tell them, how will they learn?

This thread reminded me of an incident when I was in my late teens. My dad has a brand new 1987 Ford F250 4wd. The thing sat way up in the air and the front end and the nose on that truck was real flat (no hood slope and no way to see right down in front). We came out of some store approached the truck from the rear and tossed our crap in the back end and got in. Since there was no one parked in front of us, Dad tossed her into drive and away we went, only to hear the most god awful ruckus in front and then about 20 ft out the shopping cart that some asshat left right up tight to the front end came flying out to the side (dad was turning at that point I guess). He launched that damn cart flipping and barrel rolling about 30 feet as I recall. My guess is that cart spent the rest of its life with a hell of a warp in its frame. No damage to the truck though, good steel bumper I guess.

It sucks, but honestly whats the point of complaining? People are lazy, some more than others. The thought of walking the extra 20 feet is scary to some. But posting about it on here won't do any good, maybe make up a few signs that say "Hey Jackass, the cart goes here" and put them at the local store you frequent most, sit, and chase down anyone you see who refuses to comply?

Side note.
Ever seen what happens when you run a shopping cart into a dumpster at 60 mph?

There are way better things to do with shopping carts then just put them back. I suggest you all experiment accordingly. My teenage years were very destructive.

I always park right next to the cart return, I figure it's the safest place since no one returns carts there...

That was where I always park when I work at the grocery store. In 10 years my vehicle has never been hit by a shopping cart lol.

I worked at a grocery store at 15. The parkinglot was a hill that sloped towards the storefront and almost daily peeps would just leave their carts and drive away, then they would often roll down and crash into another parked car. I and others "caught" quite a few of the runaway carts, but not all and the store had to put up signs telling peeps to secure the carts in the corrals and that the store was not responsible for damage from them.

^^^^Disgruntled bag/cart boy just blowing off steam.

Yes people are lazy shit bags for the most part.

It's not as bad as leaving the carts in the landscaping or in the middle of the lot, but if you've made the effort to go all the way to the corral, why not finish it up and run the cart all the way in and nest them together so others can fit their cart as well. Laziness kills me.

I try to line up with the lane and push the cart as hard as I can from about 15' away and see how much racket I can make. Some times it lines them all up and nests them lol.

I do the same thing. Always gets funny looks from passer-bys, but it makes me smile!
