Group Buy LED light bar - Anyone interested?

I'm interested in getting an LED light bar for my XJ but not interested in paying the insane markups for the ones being sold by retailers.

These bars look 100% the same as the latest popular brand. They use Cree LED's, the same as the popular brand. They have an IP68 rating meaning they are sealed from dust and water for 30 minutes at 1 meter (maybe? I can't tell).

Without shipping or import taxes, they are 1/3 the price of the popular brand.

The thing is, I have to order at least 10. The more I order, the cheaper we can get them for, but 10 is the minimum. I'd be willing to take a 50% deposit up front from interested people (only after I have 10 orders verbally spoken for). I will charge $10/person for shipping and handling (if you order 10 of them, I charge you only $10 for shipping and handling).

Being the first time, I can't estimate shipping times, but once I have them in hand, they will be shipped the next day. I would require the buyer to pay for insurance and delivery confirmation.

I'm considering either a 30" or 40" in spot pattern.

================================================

If you don't read anything above this, read this. I don't care that they are made in China. You're welcome to respond and talk about US made products vs. Chinese made, but don't expect a reply from me. That debate is for other threads.

Also, these will not be shipped to me in Italy. I will have them shipped to someone I trust stateside that will handle reshipping them to anyone that buys. If for some reason, this person, is not responsible, and they fail to arrive at the buyers house, you will get a full refund. At that point, please public mention I failed to do what I said I would, I deserve it.

I'm working on the price right now. China is waking up about now so I'm waiting for an email back.

As for links, I will PM them as I don't want to drag name brands in to this thread. If you want the links, PM me. 06UnlimitedDL, I'm PM'ing you now.

interested.sent me link. I've always wanted one but the firetruck stuff we sell is way rich for my blood.

shoot me a PM on possible price and the link, thanks

Ok. I have some specifics.
40" costs $550 + shipping from China to US + shipping to you from me + import taxes. (I have to order all one size, so 40" is probably going to be it)

They are saying UPS shipped to my door costs roughly $80. They are working on a freight price to the port in Boston where my brother can pick them up.

So right now I'm roughly estimating $650 shipped to your door. Not as great a savings as I thought, but still 50% of what name brand is.

It looks like the major variable is shipping. The more I order, the cheaper the rate per unit. When I get an exact price I will let everyone know.

Life testing. They are saying they will run nonstop for 5 years. Take that with a grain of salt.

PM me a price on a 10" if it is an option. I've been shopping them the last few weeks.

Edit- those look like 10" versions in the pictures.

I would have to run a different group buy for 10". Can only buy one size in a lot.

extreme cold testing (dry ice)?
I was thinking corrosion testing. They said it's a fog system with salt in it. Maybe like a sea water testing? Maybe they just have crazy killer salt fogs in China they want to protect against.

I got some final pricing from them. $677 shipped to your door if you live in or east of Missouri.

Farther west and it will be more, farther east and it might be less. Calculate your own shipping from 05403 to your zip for 10lbs.

I required 50% upfront to reserve your order. I will accept layaway payments if you want, but require it to be paid in full by one week after arrival in the US. Failure to pay within a week of arrive could result in a full refund of your order as I will try to sell it to someone else.

I wouldn't call these a little pricey. $677 is still 50% off the name brand that this looks identical to. This light is the same as one's selling for $1300 on Amazon and Ebay, not to mention retail companies.

Here are some stats from the manufacture's website:
• 50,000+ hours average life span

:stupid: I would be interested in 6-10" sizes if it was expanded to other sizes.

That's what it looked like to me.

we do salt spray/fog testing all the time... It basically testing it against corrosive enviroments... Also IP68 is complete protection from dust and protection against long periods of immersion under pressure.

It's very hard for me to take you seriously with that avatar.

Ok, I have all the cash lined up to order 10 of these. I just need 9 people to commit to buying them.

I can have them shipped on Feb. 3 (the end of Chinese New Year). I would guess it will take 45 days to arrive in the US. I have triple confirmed, they have them in stock waiting to ship, so no delays there.
