I was a member of some pretty tight knit off-oad groups up north. We had monthly meetings and got together for wheeling all the time and such..
Was wondering if there is anything like that, or really anything at all in the wnc area? I'm based out waynesville/cruso area but don't mind a little drive for meetings and wheeling.
I am interested in learning the lay of the land and where to wheel legally and meet a good community of wheelers.

Carolina Trail Blazers. We are spread out, but there’s a good handful of our guys in WNC. There is a ride every month. Some 2 hours away, some 4-6 hours away. There is a lot of good wheeling within 4 hours of you in TN, KY and West VA. Also The Flats and The Shop, both in Marion, NC.

There is a few other great clubs local too like Rock Corps and CNC4x4.

Thank you man!
Do yall have specific page or is there a better way to get out and get involved?

I was a member of C.O.R.E. (carolina off road extremists) and that is a great group! they have at least one ride per month in the season and meet monthly for dinner. When I get my jeep fixed I plan to get back in. They are based in Charlotte and mostly meet there, but do rides all over.

Another option is the plethora of "informal" offroad groups on facebook. Jeepers United, WNC chapter of Infidel Jeepers, Backwoods 4x4 of the carolinas and many others. Between the groups im in, there is always at least 2 rides per week in the prime season and a couple per month in the off season.

Carolina Trailblazers

There are several great groups like C.O.R.E. Mentioned above.
I chose the Trail Blazers because I got to know guys like @Jason W. and a few other. It’s one of the older clubs too.

I will say a guy from Jeepers United happened to come along and help me out a ton when I had rolled my Jeep. He helped me out and made sure I got back rolling and home.

Meet up with some folks, join in some rides, see what you think. Guests are always welcome and I’m sure that holds true for other clubs as well.

Reading your profile and some specifics of your rig, I would recommend Carolina trail blazers. They are a great group of guys and gals. Most are the 35" tire and up. I myself used to be apart of that club, but found myself going in a different direction, Because of me beig in them, my son has chosen to be a part of them, and, has been for years! I know a lot of the CNC guys and they are also a great group. So, you do have options. Rock Corps 4X4 another good club. They have their own piece of land that they ride on(in Marion NC) TO be a part of them you need to be active, show up for work days and so on. That's basically how you get invited in.

Best of luck!

Appalachain 4x4 were based outta canton meet every other week for dinner. We’re a smaller group but everyone’s good dudes and the group has from 35 on a lj all the way to a coyote powered buggy
