I will be doing some interior modification to my truck in a few months and will be needing some new guages. What brand guages are yaul running in your rigs...how much did you end up spending and how happy are you with them?

I used the equus gauges the 8000 series i like them they are back lit (selectible colors) and ive left them in my cj5 (no top) on two or three nights when it rained and they showed no damage but the only electric i have is the tach the rest are mechanical and came with like 3-5 adapters for many AN sizes , if your in hudson and would like to take a look at them up close just pm me i have a few i havent put in yet

x2 mine are still working good

Auto Meter Phantom series. They have a bit of a price tag at $30-$50 each for the smaller instruments, and $120 and up for a tach depending on what style, same for a speedo, again, depending on style, but I think they're well worth it. They work great, they put up with the punishment I put them through in a mud racer.

I was wondering the same thing as to what gauges people are using and stuff. But also wanted to know if you guys have any pics of your installation and if you had any trouble/problems with the mechanical gauges in cab. if i need to start a new thread i will don't mean to hijack this one.

My truck is a base model and it doesn't have a tach right now...don't really need one. Just wanting to do the vitals. oil temp water temp volts and oil pressure. I have a fuel cell and it has a sending unit in it but I don't know if it works. I need to test it somehow before I buy an aftermarket guage for it.

My friend has the cyberdyne guages but they are a bit pricey at around 70 bucks with no sending unit

Take an ohm meter and hook it to the sending unit terminals. check it with the float hanging all the way down for empty and then pull the float up and get a full reading. match those two reading with the different gauge specs and you will know which fuel gauge to buy. Most likely its a gm sending unit if I had to guess.
