Gulches Amazing Race is coming

The Gulches Amazing Race is taken from the CBS Sunday night hit television show the Amazing Race. Instead of racing around the world ours will race around our park.

Teams are made up of two people and one 4x4 vehicle. Stay tuned for more info and rules on our home page.

Yes Saturday June 11 is the Gulches Amazing Race. This event is taken from the CBS Sunday night hit television show the Amazing Race. Instead of racing around the world ours will race around our park.

Teams are made up of two people and one 4x4 vehicle. Cost to enter $35.00. (for the team and vehicle) Registration 10:00 am to 10:45 am Team meeting at 10:45 am and race starts at 11:00 am.

Everyone starts at the same time. Teams will be given several Clues and Challenges to continue through the race. Any 4x4 will work as good as any other. There is no advantage by having a built rig.

Clues and Challenges for this event will be but not limited to:

Orienteering to get to the clues and challenges

Trail maintenance

Tire rolling

A cool off challenge

A not so cool off challenge

Waitering

Cool your rig

Drive three

All you need is a competitive spirit and to be physically fit. (fit for South Carolina) Each should wear comfortable older clothes and walking or hiking shoes for the warm weather. A cooler with water and snacks is a good idea. First team to check in at the end wins at least $100.00 and a giant Gulches Amazing Race trophy.
 
Sounds like a fun time! Unfortunately I can't make this one, but please do plan another one! I'd like to participate.
 
Please make sure to hold on with a bit more notice I would love to do this.
 
This is a great event not only for our regular competitor and their spotter but for Father and Son, Husband and wife and or siblings.

Challenge your club members. I have three teams committed now and want at least 10 but no more than 12. I promise you this will be a blast.

Of course the park will be open for normal trail riding.

Weather looks great and we expect a good group of Gulches Amazing Racers. This will be a spectator friendly event but spectators will need a 4x4 to follow their favorite team around the park.
No part of the park will be closed as the racers will have to follow the park rules and move through the park and other trail riders.

We still have spots open for race teams. Please if you ever wanted to compete in an event here at the Gulches but were afraid to try, this is your event. It is going to be a fun family friendly event with absolutely no stress on your 4x4. Rules and info on the home page.
Park opens at 10 am
Registration for participants from 10 to 10:45
Teams meeting 10:45 to 11:00 and the race starts around 11:00am
The meeting is where we will explain all rules to the teams.
