Got some guys heading with me to Gulches sunday if anybody wants to join. Be there when he opens.
 
No you can camp in the trail system for free at Uwharrie. Just be sure to use an existing camp site, and please leave it as clean or cleaner than you found it.

There are bathrooms at the Dutch John and Wolf Den trail heads. I like to camp near those.

You do need to buy a trail pass though for $5. They are available at Eldorado Outpost among other places.

I was scrolling thinking great trip, then bummer! Hope the trail fix wasn't to bad. What happened? Bearings work loose and loose the whole mess off the spindle?
 
OUTER SHAFT SNAPPED. TO MUCH MUDD ON HUB RIGHT NOW TO DETERMINE WHAT OTHER DAMAGE. WASNT TO BAD. GUY IN A JK PULLED ME OUT OF TRAIL. LAYED LARGE LOG DOWN AND THREE WHEELED IT ONTO MT TRAILER!!!!
