At the very front of "Little Boy", the 15 kiloton bomb dropped on Hiroshima, there is a locknut which holds together the target components together inside the bomb. This locknut, seemingly identical to a nut you could buy at any hardware store across the country, was attached by someone in a factory somewhere as one of the final assembly steps just prior to it's deployment as a weapon of mass destruction. As a direct result of this nut and every bit of ordinance it fastened together, 66,000 lives were lost, but to a greater good, the war was effectively ended saving the lives of millions.

So, based on your perspective, that nut either killed thousands or saved millions.

To tighten that nut, a tool was used. The same tool used to attach that nut to Little Boy is in the tool boxes of millions of people. A gun is also a tool. The tool is not the problem. The motive behind the user of the tool is.
