Anyone around the Triad area had these installed on their house and recommend an installer? I had them installed on my old house nine years ago, but can't remember who I used.

Thanks,
Danny

Whatever you do, don't get the perforated ones.

This could get interesting! Welcome Gutter Helmet. My house has/had [some removed] the old aluminum screens. From past experience, & now, Pen Oaks, Love these. If the leaves aren't stuck in them, the green wormy pollen, covers them. Best of all, with or with out covers/screens/guards/ect , my clog, is Always at the opening of the down spots! I had one company give me a quote, once. The other guys! Salesman, thought he was still selling used cars! Started with an outrageous price, & when I wouldn't bite, kept calling the Manager, to get a better deal, & discounts. By the time I got him to leave, he was down to 1/2 price! It was Still too much, & I wasn't going to deal with a car salesman! All these products seem to work the same, & each one has "the Best" advantage. Between what I've seen, & what owners have told me, None are Good. Fair, maybe. They overshoot the water, in hard rain, & still get small leaves, & pollen, inside, which creates clogs. I've had some advice, to switch to commercial gutters & downspouts. These are usually 4",instead of the 3" home style, & the down spouts, are funnel shaped, & resist clogging. I haven't checked this out. SO, Let the opinions Flow!:D

I wasn't exactly sure what this thread was going to be about when I first read the title.

Yea, those suck balls. I helped my father install them on his garage about 20-25 yrs ago. I think he bought them at Home Depot. Stuff still gets through the holes and clogs the gutters.

I never had any trouble out of the gutter helmets or gutter covers on my old house. I just had to have them wiped down/cleaned at least once a year or the film that developed on them would prevent the water from being able to adhear to the surface and work like they should. They kept all the crap out, and I lived in the woods.

I'm sure they were expensive as hell and knowing me, wouldn't have made that decision, but current house came with "K-Guards" from Bassett...
They work great, and the best part is they will repair/replace if damaged!
Short version, tree dropped on the back gutter (25'-30' long) and ripped it all down, called for repair estimate, they said if I paid a $175 "warranty transfer fee", it wouldn't cost any thing additional, fixed the next day... and have had repairs made twice since. Hasn't cost a penny outside the original fee 10+ years ago...
