H1 Beadlocks seem like a good deal until you have to get them recentered and they price quadruples. It is my understanding that they are a 9.75" wide wheel, with 7" backspacing. I don't have one so I am only assuming here, but, Ill assume 1/4" thickness at the center. What if you were to mount the wheel backwards, effectively giving 2.5" of backspacing? Would the studs hit the brakes? I understand that the taper of the lug contact surfaces would be on the wrong side, but Im thinking for offroad use only, this could probably be neglected. Am I crazy?

Also, what about a 2.5-3" spacer to offset the offset, and mounted normally would give 3.5-4.5" backspace?

Is there any reason I couldn't just reverse the studs too then?

the studs do hit the brakes i tried it and as far as recentering them i did a set a couple of weeks ago in my garage with a torch and a decent welder and didn't have any problems it cost around 170 for all the centers i am getting some rock rings made right now also for the front if interested

I think that even if you reversed the studs you would rub or hit. The centers is a pretty easy thing to do. I got them to my door for $200 and then a couple hours later they were welded in. I just borrowed some time with a plasma cutter to clear out the old centers. With the pressed centers I ended up with 3.5 inches of back spacing. If you want any more than that you have to go with flat plate centers.

I have run these wheels alot using 1.5" spacers on front and 2" spacers or rear to even up the track width. I went to www.wheelspacers.com and ordered them from a man named Fred Goeshe for about $400.00 for all four shipped. Super good quality and never had any problems with them.
