I am new to the H1 world and was wanting some opinions from you guys. I am building a 77 f150 and am wanting to run about a 37 inch tire. I was looking at runnin the humvee tires since they are cheap and i am poor.:( In order to do that i would have to find a 16.5 inch wheel in 5x5.5 pattern. Im weighing the pros and cons of each and wanted some opinions. I can most likely recenter the H1's myself and have beadlocks and all the good stuff. Or just find some standard steel wheels and weld some rock rings on them and go, which are hard to come by except new.
Maybe im reverse engineering this and wont like the tires either way.
Any opinions would be appreciated. thanks.

If you can recenter the wheels yourself, go that route, you can find them dirt cheap and make you some inserts out of PVC or cut down the factory ones. There was guy on pirate selling them for dirt cheap but I bet you can source a set locally for less.

As far as the tires, I have the BFG's and I love them but I've heard good stuff about the radial goodyears as well.

as for airing down ive been down to 10psi on my f250...i also run the BFG's...with these tires my truck weighs in about 6200lbs,i run 25psi in them normally.

8 bolt are for bias tires and you can't run radials. 12 bolt or 24 bolt you can run bias or radials. If you are gonna drive on the street a lot I would go with 12 or 24 bolt.

I've got a nice set of recentered 12 bolts....8 lug. If you go with 8lug axles on the truck then give me a shout

PM me. I can answer any question you have.
