Well, my rear axle now sounds like someone poured a box of rocks into it, I honestly don't know how much life it has left in it. I am very prepared to tow this thing home one day. :(

Anyway, one of my friends is hooking me up with a 14bsf rear axle. Of course, it is 8 lug so I'll need to change my wheels. Front axle isn't an issue because the brakes are squealing anyway and I'll need to fix that too. Might as well replace the hubs with 8 lug ones when I'm doing the brakes.

Anyway, I really want to put some 12-bolt Hummer beadlocks on the truck. I don't know whether I want to do the flat centers or the pressed ones when I recenter them. The flat ones look better because of all the cool designs you can do, but not sure what would be best on a truck that sees a ton of time on the road. Thoughts?

Pressed centers are superior in strength and usually more true. Flat centers, you can have flames.
Not much else to say. 1/4" pressed centers will still be stronger than 1/2" flat centers. Plus they look like real wheels instead of something you welded together.

Pressed x4

MUCH stronger

I thought somewhere on here we had a local vendor that dealt with the centers or is it just me.

Pressed ftw, learned my lesson on flat centers.

I think mudpro does centers......if you dont have any wheels get ahold of steve(1bigazzburban on here)...yes always got some

pressed or flat depends on the use of your rig too

If you are trail only or 75% of the time, flat will do you just fine. I had 5/8" thick flat centers and didn't have an issue. If you take your time, they will be pretty true and not be wobbly. Flats seem to be a little more budget friendly and are cooler.

I think with the pressed centers you are limited to a certain backspacing where flats you have much more latitude to change it up to fit your needs better.

Scott at Mudpro can get you some flat centers in many different styles or whatever you can dream up. Pressed are just boring...
