i think they need some more zerk fittings on that drive shaft.

Well, you never know when you're gonan sheer one off on a rock. Good to have some spares in place.
 
i cant find it but who welded the ring right to the pinion??? i need to see them pics again...lol
 
Freightliner semi trucks with rack and pinion steering have the rack mounted to the axle and use a long travel steering shaft just like this.

Learn somethin new every day. Haha. I'm sure it works well on a freightliner with very little wheel travel. I just can't see it workin on this jeep tho.
 
BTW - i did some digging on our Isuzu Board and that over-grown Trooper got torn apart from our guys. I just missed the thread.

What a complete mess that thing is.:shaking::shaking:
