Half time show

I'm with JNK-RNR lets see some metal

I will have to say that I was impressed that Prince could actually play the guitar like he did thou, but I mean I'm more of a fan of the superbowl helf time show that has several artists performing together, several different of there songs, not reall y a fan of how he just sung some other groups songs to fill in the gaps. I really wasnt impressed with his cover of the Foo Fighters but like I said at least he can play the guitar pretty well.

I disagree, I don't think he play that well. I have heard a lot of guitars in my life and I didn't like is combinations at all. To be fair in that respect, the weather could have defiantly had bearing on that part. To compare him to Hendrix is obscene, Jimmy could play. Out play if you will, just about anyone of that time or this.
Billy well, he did hit some bad notes, but it was better than Rosanne by far.
I too was waiting on one of the girls to bust their butts, if it happened, I didn't see it. but remember since they have the time delay thing now after the boob escapade, we wouldn't have seen it if it did happen.
Just seems to me they could come up with better performers than this. I have been disappointed for several years with the halftime show.

My wife and I have always been Price fans. I think he is a decent artist. He is different and he is old, so some of you younger guys probably can not even remember when he was a big name. I think he plays the guitat just fine. I do not think he is the best ever by any means but he is not bad. Jimmy Hendrex would take him to school though.

They probably don't want any Top 40 stars on there anymore after what happened a couple years back with the "wardrobe malfunction".

Prince singing Purple Rain in the rain. Coincidence? I think not.

Say what you want ,but back in the mid 80's when I took my little high school girlfriend to the Purple Rain concert and he played Purple Rain, from the look on my girls face I knew I was going to get lucky. I will be indebted to the strange little symbol man for life.:flipoff2:

For once the GAME was better than the commercials and half-time show!

Prince (or wtf he calls himself now) was mediocre. He sucked at Tina's song and the Prince song. It was cool to here Jimi resurected.

Could be, I have no idea what alias he uses...

For a superbowl halftime show, Prince rocked!!!!

He is a hell of a musician. Did anyone notice that he was the only guitar on the stage? He is very fluid and couldn't loose a groove if he had to. It was nice to see a player and not a dancer that sings.

I fully agree. After hearing from the critics on here that probably never even strum Smoke on the water - in their life. And the queer pointers that I guess never enjoyed the music of Judas Priest, The Who, Styx, Stone Temple Pilots or R.E.M., Joan Jett or Melissa Ethridge and the list goes on and on of the out-of-the-closet musicians.
Prince had full poise and total control the entire performance. No one on here could face a billion people and have the cuth he did and ability to change the tune on the fly. Of course his guitar licks is no Eddie Van Halen, not even close! But for a guy that wrote every single note and word to come out of his mouth in his whole musical career. No lip sinc'ed un talented rap music here folk! Prince deserves much credit!
His music was always favored much more from the female crowd and the crazy guys like me that only followed him for those women followers. But naturally closed minded rednecks seemed to always hate him? The never gave him a chance and never realized how his music would get you laid in a split second. Pop Purple Rain or Controversy in the cassette deck and you barely had time to get the seat laid back.
He always had the 2 hot chicks as musicians to sell for his lack of looks anyways - Wendy and Lisa. Was Mick Jagger any better for the eyes? Of course Janet now! :bounce2: I say no more.
Thumbs up for Prince! I thought the little Aunt Jamima dude had it going on!

That was Prince ?
I thought it was Aunt Jemima

Honestly, when he first started singing, I had to look and see if it was him, he Sounded like Eddie Murphy doing Prince.

If it hadn't been raining, I'd be willing to bet the show would have been many times better. can't do a whole lot of dancing in stilletos and a wet stage.

And yes, I too was waiting for the dancing dollies to slip and bust their ass.

lol if you needed prince to get you laid i feel bad for ya.

ill agree he did alright up there on the G tar (but pretty far from ROCKED lol).but the superbowl needs better halftime music!!!!!

Prince is the most awesome pseudo-faggy-weirdo since Bowie! He can freakin shred too. Look on you tube for the vid of him and an allstar ensemble covering "While my guitar gently weeps" and watch him steal the entire performance. Would you all rather have Nsync or some sorry talentless pop-country group up there? F that. That was one of the best HT performances I've seen.

I think that show got a lot of us laid....

I wouldnt go that far, but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. I guess I feared the worst, but his live performance really opened my eyes. I'll do some youtube searching, sounds intersting.

Say what you will. But, Price was tagging Carmen Electra long before she became the doorknob (see footnote) for athletes and rockers.

doorknob: everybody gets a turn.

While I don't think Prince was horrible, I think the halftime show should be more of a collection of current artists, not just one from the 80's who evidently is not liked by all. I really wish MTV hadn't screwed it up for all of us. But the pregame was the GAY-est thing I have ever seen, let alone during a football game. Keep your Frenchie crap on that side of the pond.

And if I have to be of a certain age to remember when Prince was popular-was does that tell you?

X2 bro! Never have figured out what about him makes the little all squishy, just glad to have been a benefactor on several occasions!

Now just to be controversial, I worked several other bands shows in the mid-late '80's... I tried to be objective and not judge them for a particular musical genre... but 3 of the best shows I've ever seen were done by Madonna! Easily as good as eleventy dozen shows from David Lee Roth (w/Engve sp?)., OMD ( )...
