Me and the wife came up here to Asheville this afternoon. We'll be here until Sunday. Staying at the Renaissance Marriott Hotel downtown. She used to go to school here several years ago, so she knows her around. The only part of Asheville I've ever been to is the Grove Park Inn and that's been several years. Looking forward for a nice relaxing weekend. What else is there to do here other than Biltmore or Chimney Rock?

I like going over to the Farmer's market. There is a Lil ole lady there named Betty that has some KILLER canned stuff. Then the nursery next to it has some cool stuff but prices are kinda high but some unique things.

I graduated from WCU last year and frequented AVL, but mainly for the bars etc. Downtown has a lot of cool stores if you or your wife are into the artsy fartsy stuff....

My wife Leslie is from Asheville. When we first started dating we went to a bar called Magnolia's, I don't drink, but they have always had a pretty good band.
Leisester (sp) Pawn shop out on Leisester hwy has a good selection of tools, and you can dicker on price.

I'll second Ed's. It's got some good sauces too.
I've always liked Barley's. Tons of beer and the pizza's not too bad.

X2 on Barley's. That place is on the agenda everytime we're in Asheville. Firewater IPA on draft and great slices. And see what shows are going on at the Orange Peel. Best venue in town. I miss the Asheville Music Zone and Be Here Now, though.

You could hit up the Jerusalem Cafe and see if the belly dancers are working.
