Not sure if this is a "build" or not, this will become the wife's daily driver in a month or so.
Been short on 4x4 vehicles around the ole' homestead for a while, the mrs. decided she wanted something we could fit our large dog into, and take on trips into the mountains / adventure races. We both enjoy driving stick shifts, and I had been hunting for an Xterra or 4runner......but the prices for ragged out 4runners, and decent Xterras got me looking at old reliable XJ's.
Found this 1997 XJ on ebay....then again on craigslist. It is a 1 owner (I have the original 1997 title in hand), looks like the original owner was a woman, and the registration records show it as putting a solid 15k miles every year for about 15 years, then slipping into the roll of a second vehicle.
Lots of new parts on the Jeep, lots of little things that need to be taken care of. Very little surface rust, and zero cancer.
specs. 243k miles, 4.0l, NP231, AX15, D35 rear, HP D30 up front.....runs like a sewing machine.
Needs a few new brake lines, new fluids and filters front to back, side molding delete, fix a couple of interior panels, add cruise control, and start driving it to see what else breaks.
More pics. to come.
