i call it a "chefs cutting board "
anyone no were i can get some and how well does it hold up as a skid pan on a rig?It has to be lighter than plate steel.
thanks in advance

Golden Rule Plastics in Haw River

its UHMW. typically the white stuff is virgin, the black stuff is recycled but you should be able to get it several colors

virgin is better impact resistance but recycled has better wear resistance

thank i will give them a call,
i found a company on Ebay, they want 350.00 for a 4x8 1/2 thick sheet, really dont want to spent that much for a skid pan

I have an entire sheet of marine polmer grade. Not sure if you can use it.

how thick do i need it?Its for my honda buggy,,guessing under 2000 lbs

I've seen 1/4" up to 1" thick depending on the application. You can go with thinner if you back it with some other metal. I wouldn't go less than 3/8"

there is a recent thread on PBB in Gen4x4 talking about the exact same thing

Mine is about 1/2" thick and has been beat on like crazy. It has held up amazingly well, although somewhat scarred. I beveled the holes and used allen head bolts so they are flush with the surface. Most semi local places can cut just what you need. I have a good source if you can tell me the size you need.

just a heads up if you don't want to go some where to get UHMW you can order it from McMAster Carr they have an excellent website and you can't beat their delivery times or prices.

They typically have multiple thicknesses and sizes in stock.

McMaster will rape you on the prices of UHMW

Yep. Bad.

I sell this at my current job.
I can cross their part #s on most anthing they sell and can kill their prices usually..

I would be glad to help anyone out, just let me know.

(hope this is OK)

I will not be back to work untill maybe Monday though, I just had some brutal sinus/throat surgery.
