my d 300 w/ tera low 4:1 & currie twin sticks prof. rebuilt 3 yrs ago is sometimes hard to get into 4wd low, but even more difficult to return back to 2wd high ? any ideas or tips out there. thanks

I have the same issues with mine. Also, a Tera low kit.
Also pops out of low, so a bungy from one seat to the other keeps tension on it.

I have the tera low and a twin stick on a dana 300 too. It's always been tough to get into every gear (front low, front high, rear low, rear high). It helps to be moving just a tiny bit and the tranny should be in neutral. One thing I've learned to never do is to cross up the gears. If I'm going from f-low/r-low to f-high/r-high I make sure to make a stop at neutral. If I cross them up (f-high/r-low) then I can't roll a little and work it out of gear.

FWIW, mine has never popped out of gear.

It can only be a pattern worn on the output shaft splines or detent ball/spring problems, right? Poping out of gear = weak springs. It also seems it would hard to get into gear if there is too much play on the gear splines. Like maybe Tera machined the ID of the large low gears too big. Just ideas

my JB conversions kit came with heavier detent springs to help prevent it from popping out.. I've never had mine come out.. I think it shifts just fine.. There are times when i can fell it doesn't want to shift so i roll a little more.. Its NOT a new style t-case and doesnt shift like one.. As mentioned you really need to be rolling.. I just have to be careful as if I don't grab some gear quick the auto starts free wheeling..

I have a twin stick 300, otherwise stock, that doesn't jump out of gear and shifts into gears easily. However it doesn't like to come out of 4wd. Sometimes i have to unlock the hubs and get it rolling slowly before i can pop it out. Into and out of 2-lo is never a problem. Feels like the gears are binding just enough to keep it from releasing. Typical gear-drive case.

thanks for the replies & ideas i'll try some different shift combinations , maybe i was'nt always stopping at neutral on the hi/lo range lever ? btw mine has never popped out of gear on its own. sometimes i miss my good old stock single stick.
