I seem to remember a thread on here but can't find it now about which trails to go to and difficulty of them. We've got a group going up in a couple of weeks from semi-stock to well built, and need some trail info. I did get a map when i was passing thru but it doesnt tell much about the trails. It looks like we've only got 1 driving up, the rest will be trailered in. Thanks again

MIld to wild. The whole group should be able to stay together. All trails pretty much have a by-pass except for some of the more extreme ones. but, the lesser built rigs can take another route on those and meet up.

dont know the numbers just the names. Rail bed for better build rigs, your turn is not as bad now and can be done with lockers and 35 and up tires if dry.

You will have a good time out there in your rig and will be able to do most of the things there. Like said, there are bypasses or gravel roads around most of the harder stuff if some people want to skip it. We are thinking about going sometime in august if you are interested. You really need to see Stephens new buggy.

Were headed to Coal Creek in September, so I may have to skip it but keep me in the loop if ya'll decide to go. If i can work it out, i'm game to go.

Last time I was there Mason Jar was easier than middle rock garden, but I have a 5 point harness now so might try middle rock garden again.

Middle rock garden wasn't so bad last time I was there, lower was easier. Mason Jar wasn't too bad either.

Try the upper part of Crawfords Cry. I went down and it looked like it would be pretty difficult going up...

You can get trail maps at Buddie's Chevron in Evarts.
The lower rock garden is hard to pass up - fun. Half a day or more could easily be spent driving different lines on the middle rock garden. For the extreme (sic), head to the mason jar trail.

Thats where were staying, how far is it from the trails, and can we get trail passes at Buddies Chevron also?

Those cabins are the size of small storage sheds and it's a mile or two from the trail. You can get a pass at the cabin at the start of the trails.

FYI...

And, if you are going into town and looking for a Chevron, its no longer a Chevron, I think Mike changed it to a BP...

Yeah we got one of the bigger "cabins", You can still drive to the trails though as most everybody is trailering their rigs up. It says something on the their website about easy access to the trail system..... or something like that.

What dates are you going? Our regular wheeling group is crashing a grand Cherokee event at the end of July.

NAXJA will be ther eon the 4th weekend. Heading up on Thursday.

Were leaving this Thursday morning and coming home Sunday some time. Yeah i heard about the Naxja event today, oh well i'm sure there is enough room for all of us to ride and play. We have 6 rigs going 3-Gm based rigs, 2-Yotas, and 1-yj. Were on the Evarts side, it appears like the naxja group is based on the Putneys side. Hey it's all good let's ride

Yea plenty fo room. If you see us stop and say high. I'm in a white 2 door on 42's.

I will do, i'm in a red K-5/S-10 hybrid thingy on 42's also.

T-bone,

Didn't we run into each other at Callalantee last year?

Ironic, I'll be in Harlan this coming weekend with a few other guys. maybe we'll run into each other again. I'm in a black 4 door Jeep JK on 37s now.

i'll be up there with a couple of other rigs the weekend of 6th-8th. if thats the same as you...feel free to say hello. i'll be the only solid axle nissan in harlan.

I'm in a group heading up next week too. Some of us are headed up on the 3rd, while others won't be up till the 5th

The SEC of NAXJA has their big event the week of the 4th every year. I will be up there form the 3rd - 8th and Putney running arond with a bunch of XJ's.
