That name never gets old. Our old shop truck that @Buddy Holly may or may not have killed at some point.

We were in the process of swapping the engine when I ended up selling the shop. I sold it as a roller to someone but can't remember who. I realize that was several years ago, but figured maybe I'd give it a shot. My son with the XJ is really getting into Comanches now and just wondering what ever happened to mine.

I tried to kill it. I really did. It wouldn’t die.

For anyone wondering, you would drive it, it would have decent oil pressure then about 10 minutes in it would lose all pressure suddenly and not come back til it completely cooled off. I found that out when I was on a dump run. I got halfway back to the shop when the lifters started clattering and it lost a ton of power. Still made it back though……

We tried to swap a 3800sc in it but the engine was too tall to fit under the hood. The oil pan was resting on the axle tube and the blower still stuck out a couple inches. I miss that truck. When we got it, there were no less than 5 floormats stacked on each other covering up the gaping hole in the floor pan on the driver’s side. Good times.

Nope! I drove it flintstone style for a couple days and eventually put a bunch of floormats back in it.
