Hauling Gravel

Anyone know of someone to haul gravel in Elkin NC? I figured I'd try on here before calling someone at random. Thanks

Call the quarry. They can usually set you right up for reasonable.

Used to, you could go hang out at the local quarry and find someone. Now days, you'll usually be waiting a while in between drivers. If any come by at all...

If not on here, I recommend craigslist in the "services" section???

State Road Farm and Garden (i think that is right) is right up 21 before the Wilkes co line, they will sell and deliver. Best I remember, they weren't too unreasonable.

Can also try Farmers Mulch and Rock. They are at Fairview, intersection of 601 and 268 outside of Dobson

If you need a half load, the retail places can be reasonable.


If you need full truckloads, call the quarry and get it straight from them and not the retail places. Much cheaper.

Usually 15-16 tons on a tandem truck.

They will bring less but trucking cost is the same
