Well, first of all a 3 or 4 link is alot of work, can you fabricate? do you weld good enough to trust the welds on your suspension? Have the time/tools?
I think you should spend alot of your time planning the link suspension - I spent about 4 months just researching different types of link suspensions and how people liked them. I played with a calculator as well during that time to see what kind of numbers I could turn out with the room that I had under my jeep. Keep in mind you can get very good numbers with the calculator, but it has to be able to fit too! And also you will hear something different from almost everyone about what kind of numbers you should get - I ended up around 67-89% anti-squat(built adjustablility into the suspension), 30in roll center hieght, and a 4 deg. roll axis angle. I can't remember the rest of the numbers right off hand. I would say try and keep your roll axis as close toe zero as you can, keep the roll center height as high as possible, and I would personally keep the anti-squat between 60-90% (just my opinion). And also the calulator isnt everything!!! Your rig wont always be on flat ground so the numbers will be changing constantly!! So don't get to tied up in it.
I have about 400-500$ in it and that includes the steel for making my brackets, arms, 4 johnny joints, 4 heims, jam nuts, etc. I would say I went with the cheaper route and used square tubing for my links vs. DOM, but I am sure my lowers will be fine since the are 2x2x1/4 sleeved with 1.5x1.5x1/4
.
A couple things that I think I would have done differently already are...figure out a way to mount the lower links about the bottow of the frame rails and keep lowers shorter than ~38-40"
I think thats all I got for ya....I hope that helps some...I'm still learning about all this link suspension myself so somebody correct me if I'm steering him in the wrong direction.
Heres a few pics of my rear 4 link...

Goodluck man...and I assume you were talking about fabin up the 3 or 4 link yourself in the original post? haha I hope so...
