Possibly a crooked waiter/waitress with a handheld skimmer too. Those are usually pretty easy for the bank to catch though.

My parents used a gas station in Wadesboro and got scammed. They had one of those code readers on the self swipe pump and were stealing numbers, they got caught and my parents got the money back.

Seeing how it was a target in cali. could have been someone over at you're target working the system somehow.

I agree the bank should have caught it earlier, most banks watch a pattern of where it's spent. I had a quick flight into Toluca, Mexico to fix a plane - down, fix it, back inside a day. Used the card there and the bank called my house because it was "out of context" for the card.

^^ i have a breathlyzer from monitech, just got a letter from them last week saying one of their laptops w everyones info on it got stolen, cc numbers drivers license numbers ss numbers etc. Kinda has me freaked out but its not like theres much in my accnt anyways. Why in the world would you carry information like that on something mobile....

Yup, I got that same letter too.. Im not worried though, Monitech took all my money so there is none left for the scammers...
