The stock bracket on my D30 has a brace cut off and I had to drill a second hole to keep it from moving. So now the drop bracket from my lift has 2 bolts instead of one.

Is there a steering kit you recommend that has new beefy track bar? I don’t have a welder so I’d need bolt on unless someone local can help. I know everyone will say go ahead and go OTK but I’m not sure which kit would complete all of this.

Also working with a budget. (2 kids in daycare and buying a house) so anything over $500 for the kit is pretty much out of the question right now. Thanks

Can you take some photos of your current setup? How much lift do you have?

4” lift, think it’s RC. Will get better ones tomorrow this is just what I had on my phone right now.

Don’t mind that extra large washer, all I had on me at the minute.

Is the mount on the frame end in a different location? Has the steering been reconfigured in a way that's other-than-stock?

At the moment, I don't understand why you're using a drop bracket on the axle side of the track bar.

The drop bracket centers the axle.(yellow) stock bracket in red, when trying to avoid using drop bracket couldn’t get the track bar into stock location. The problem I was having is the drop bracket was moving within the stock bracket when turning. When trying to get the track bar into stock location I cut part of the stock bracket off(small tab) because it was limiting the up travel of the track bar.

@shawn thanks for the help

Also want to upgrade from stock steering, looked at crown, B Lee off-road and the rough stuff in vendor thread.

Okay. So if they moved the stock bracket on the axle down via a spacer/adapter and didn't change anything else, it probably introduces a small amount of bump steer by virtue of the drag link angle not matching the track bar anymore. Not a big deal, I just wanted to make sure the rest of the steering was more or less stock.

Cyd bent the stock track bar on her TJ a few months ago, and we replaced it with a Currie. It's adjustable, so you could ditch that drop bracket and move it back to the factory mount. The Currie bar also eliminates the ball joint at the frame end in favor of a through-bolt and a Johnny Joint. I don't love the way it's attached to the frame, but it's stronger than the stock setup, and it's the only mass-manufactured track bar that fits on a TJ with 2.5" of lift and few other suspension modifications.

Hers is running the stock drag link along with an upgraded (@Jody Treadway built) tie rod. We've used similar setups on both Jeeps over the years without problems.

Yea that’s makes sense just had to see it from another angle. The frame side mount lowers it also and I could use stock bracket on axle.

I was also trying to figure out if the bracket on the axle was structurally compromised or if it would be ok.

I'm running the JKS knock off version of the Currie that @shawn run's and haven't had any issues other than rebuilding it once.
