Head liner in XJ saging, easy fix?

take it out....replace it with stickers

Take it out. Line-X the roof. Problem solved.

Too loud? Go to Michael's Crafts store and buy some 1/2" thick foam. 3M adhesive spray on the back, stick that to the roof. Problem solved again.

remove the complete headliner remove cloth from that, spray the raw headliner with linex and reinstall

This, or something similar is a good option for your problem. I had a ZJ with the same issues, sagging and wife HATED it. I took the whole liner out, not that hard to do at all, took the cloth off and just painted it with a spray can. No sag and it passed the wife test

My fix was easy, but it was time consuming. I took the headliner out, removed all the fabric, scraped off all the foam and got some camo fabric and headliner adhesive and re did it that way

Go to the store buy some 3M spray on adhesive and pull the liner out so you can restick the fabric, quick fix and will more than likely outlast the Jeep. Just make sure you pull the material taught before you stick it down so you don't have wrinkles. I like to pull it tight then use a bondo squeegee to lay in down good and flat. You can also go to your local fabric store with a measurement and have them cut to size whatever material you want your headliner to be made of. Especially handy when your stock one has little pulls or the occasional cigarette burn spot.

Having pulled a headliner out and spraying it all with bedliner...If you like to be able to hear yourself think while driving down the road, don't do it.

Stickers might help though.

I just tore the head liner out of the cherokee....I don't drive it on the street so the noise isn't an issue. I had a saturn with a saggy head liner one....I tore it out and it got pretty loud but it was way better than having the nasty mess hanging down.

I pulled the one in my '89 XJ cleaned it off, sprayed it with sound deadening rubberized undercoating and then top coated with rustoleum spray on bedliner... It turned out nice.
