My truck runs hot every once n a while.. I'm in looking for some things I can do to cool it down. I noticed that my header puts off a shit-ton of heat and there is a coolant hose about 4"s away from it. Do you think that wraping the header would help me out? For those of you who have wrapped headers how much of a difference did it make?

The header wrap will help reduce the heat significantly...however, th wrap will/can cause header rot because they retain moisture. You could try using some high temp VHT paint, and that will help keep some heat in. But if it were me, I'd just make a heat shield.

yeah what he said...
Header wrap will cause your headers to deteriorate quicky for two reasons.
1) teh repeated ultra hot and cooling cycles will produce condensate which the wrap will trap and cause rust
2) The headers are designed to allow heat to escape, when you wrap it in they literally burn up

If its just one hose shield it.

If its just every once in a while, when is the last tie you gave your cooling system a good cleaning and good clean water?

It boiled out dirty ass water in mtn city and I put clean creek water in and it didn't get hot after that

lol.......Yea
