Headlight dimmer wiring

So...in addition to adding an e-brake, I need to have the headlight dimmer switch working to pass inspection. The slide rod in the steering column is bent and I really don't want to drop and rebuild the column...I'd rather just add a floor mounted dimmer switch (which the inspector said would be fine). The YJs dimmer switch has 4 blades and the CJ floor dimmer has 3. I'm told the 4th blade acts as a bridge, lighting both the high and low for when you pull and hold the dimmer. The floor switch doesn't have that option. If I just cap that 4th wire, will that suffice? Mad thanks....
 
Yes. It should just be three wires. 12v in and two 12v out
