Anybody got their notice for a higher Health Insurance premium?

Got mine for my healthy 13 yr. old son......Over a 100 percent increase WTH!!

Oh and I qualify for a subsidy. I didn't need or want one til now!!

So more subsidies for people who used to afford insurance. Gov't funding now forced on those who did not or used to not need it. Oh and will just tax the same group more later to pay for it..

How in the World do these people and our nation allow such stupidity...

For my son's sake if this trend keeps up his father may turn Patriot. NOT FOR THE STATUS QOU!

Between taxes, over regulation, personal privacy invasion, forced health care, possible more gun control, and an increasingly formidable push against my freedoms to worship who and how I want I'm beginning to hope for a revolution or civil war. Choose sides draw a line in the sand and dare a Freedom killer to cross it.

Yea im afraid to see what my premiums go up to.

I hope a civil war happens soon that will be the only way to save this country.

Mine went up almost 400 a month but I took a look at the some options on the health exchange and I will be going with Aetna. BCBS is hosing their current customers.

I cannot afford health insurance right now, but I'm young and hopefully will not need it. And next year I will be fined for not being able to afford it? How does that make since?

But unfortunately I think you are right about getting any real change to happen.

I may be mistaken but I don't believe that the insurance is subsidized just because you buy it through an exchange. I do think it was neat to look at all the plans and companies side by side. I have not made the change yet and BCBS has always been good for my family but we are going to have to move our dollars elsewhere.

Correct, teh subsidy is not just b/c of being bought on the exchange, it's based on income levels

IMO the "exchange" shop and compare, competitive marketplace idea is a good one - this has been working for Fed employees for a long time. The big problem is the (1) individual mandate and (2) banning denial for pre-existing conditions. Those 2 things pretty much have to ocme together, and are what drive the costs up everywhere.

Clearly the personally fiscally responsible thing to do for young healthy folks is to pay the fine and continue w/o insurance.

^^^ for the clicky and read lazy- so a young law student (Insert Most Likely To Do Well) is and has been paying for health insurance. Now after just a bit of trouble getting hooked in and fully plugged in to the Gv't he now doesn't pay anything and qualifies for Medicaid..........soooo another tit sucker.

I hate to say it but if we really want change with as little bloodshed as possible most all Americans should figure out how to do this and basically DEFUND the entire corrupt mess. It wouldn't take long. Yes it would be painful. Yes things would change and the ball would get rollin somewhere fast. And yes some bloodshed would ensue, but maybe less than full scale civil war.

No taxable income -> nenalty -> no incentive to buying that overpriced insurance.

I appreciate it; thank you. I've been doing so well that I'm considering custom colour-shifting headlights for the truck.

Best of luck with coping with that star spangled red white and blue dildo that's lodged up in you; that can't be any fun with the way things are going.

DONT FEED THE TROLL!!

scared to death!!!!!

I started reading an article on the 'affordable health care' mandate and couldn't make it through it. I started getting sick just thinking about it. Basically my wife and I can expect our premiums to skyrocket but we will not have any subsidy to make up for it. Not that I want a handout, just saying. However, a family of 4 can make up to 95k/yr and will expect to have a 12k/yr cost. The article said that about 10.5k would be subsidized, leaving the family a bill of around $120/mo. How can we as a country afford to pay that? For those not in the know, the subsidy doesn't come out of thin air. It is the government paying for it by either taxing us more (higher premiums) or increased borrowing.

Basically what it was saying is that the people who have been non-insurable due to bad health or whatever will now be able to be insured. Because of that, costs will rise. The young/healthy ones get to foot the burden of the bill. Lucky us!

Oh, and because insurance rates are so expensive, my wife and I are opting on a HSA plan with a 5k deductible. It is still expensive but guess what, a HSA plan won't qualify for a subsidy even if you are low income. We're screwed regardless as are most of us on this board. The whole thing is a racket. It is a backwards way of 'solving' insurance issues that are going to end up eating us up alive. Time to raise the deficit ceiling to infinity and beyond..

I've had enough of it as well.

That's a lot better way of saying what I was getting at. Its nothing more than a SOCIALIST type program.

SO if they want fix it or can't, what is the next step for US citizens?
Seriously we need to take charge and force our Gov't to listen to its voters. But how?
One man on a tangent is doomed to being painted as a heretic or looney.

A newly found bred of Patriots is needed, and the bugle needs to blow.

THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN!

THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN!

I hear that. When people around here talk about wanting their country back, that's what they're talking about. DC may as well be named "Mordor upon the Potomac"; it cannot be fixed. Save your Confederate money.
